My name is Sasha Silver. I grew up in Lake Tahoe, enjoying that outdoor mountain life and currently living and loving in sunny California. Unfortunately, like many, I went on my first diet when I was 12. Over the years, I found myself restricting food and obsessing over workouts. I received endless positive remarks after losing a significant amount of weight. But I still wasn’t happy. I quickly realized it was more than just weight that kept me from being my best self.
We have become so externally motivated over the years that we have lost sight of HOW our bodies feel. My body did not feel good-dieting and overtraining. My body was depleted and tired! I wanted to understand the biomechanics of the body, so I could move my body in a way that made it feel good. This sparked my interest in personal training. I became a personal trainer in 2012. From there, I received my Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics, becoming a registered dietitian. In addition to moving my body effectively, I wanted to learn how to create a healthy relationship with food.
Through knowledge and experience, I have become the trainer I am today. I believe in movement quality for longevity! EveryBODY is different and should be treated as such. There is no one size fits all to movement. Just because we can move our bodies, doesn’t mean we know HOW to move our bodies. I take pride in teaching people how to move and FEEL their bodies again. Exercise does not equal calorie burn. Movement should feel good; it’s not a punishment. I’ve worked with a variety of ages and life phases, from teens to the elderly. My style of fitness is functional. I want my clients to move their bodies in ways that mirror their daily life activities. I believe my job as your personal trainer, is to teach you how to safely and enjoyably move your body while instilling positive behavior change to live a healthy, LONG life!
