Look Down At Your Plate – Does it Make You Feel Good?

Look Down At Your Plate – Does it Make You Feel Good?

Do you monitor your personal nutrition? Are you proud of your food consumption? Food provides us with the nourishment, vitamins, and minerals we need to think, move, act, and live.

When we get going one million miles per hour, the first thing to go is our attention to food and what we are consuming. If we barely have time for a meal, we pull up to a fast food window and throw back some kind of burger with zero nutritional value. We don’t feel like we have time to meal-prep, and we certainly don’t want to eat a salad after a long day working, balancing kids, a career, and a spouse.

Look down at your plate, whether you just ate or are about to eat. What do you see? Are you proud of the meal you are about to consume?

Personal nutrition should be an integral part of every daily schedule, no matter how busy you might be. Eating clean is one of the easiest ways to boost your mood, energy, performance, and sleep, and it all starts with a little attention to your holistic health.

Here are a few reasons why you should care about your daily meals:

1. You Are What You Eat:

We’ve all heard this saying, and it’s for good reason. You are literally what you eat. Your body breaks down every molecule in the food that you consume, turning it into essential energy that keeps you moving, happy, and healthy. If you are constantly eating empty carbs, synthetic, saturated fats, and loads of sugar, your body is unable to perform its functions to the best of its ability.

2. Weight Maintenance:

Do you want to lose weight? Are you unhappy with your current state? More than 35% of Americans are overweight today, which means that you are not alone. The lower weight can reduce the risk of developing chronic conditions, like heart disease, poor bone density, and even some forms of cancer. Caring about a healthy nutrition routine is better for your longevity.

3. Better Mood:

Did you know, studies have shown that high consumption of junk food can actually impact your mood? That’s right – eating healthy actually makes you happier and more productive, which in turn, makes you more passionate about yourself and your work. You will sustain an overall better mood that makes your busy schedule less overwhelming and terrible on a daily basis.

Not to mention, our diets impact our gut health, likeliness to develop diabetes, heart disease, and other chronic conditions, as well as our bone health.

So I ask you again to look down at your plate. Does it make you feel good? If not, there’s always the right time to make a switch to a personal nutrition schedule. You are what you eat – nutrition is key. It’s time to make the change.
